Oxy Awards Donation to Help Underwrite ‘Tween Programming with Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County

Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County

GREELEY, CO –2024 – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld has been awarded a donation from Occidental (Oxy) to be its official Tween programming partner and supporter that will enable the organization to address a need for more enhanced ‘tween programming. The three-year sponsorship, will enable the organization to implement such enhancements with new projects for 10-to 12-year-old club members, or ‘tweens. These projects include a job readiness and career preparation program, a Junior Youth of the Year initiative designed to help ‘tweens discover and develop leadership skills, Torch Clubs that provide opportunities for community service, and Hip Hop 101, a program designed for club members to explore hip hop as an art form and cultivate creativity and critical thinking skills.

“Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County is so appreciative of and excited for our continued partnership with Oxy that dates back to October 2023, and we look forward to further developing the services that we know the ‘tweens in Weld County need and deserve,” said Emily Stanfill, Chief Operating Officer for Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County. “As we’ve come out of the pandemic, now more than ever, this age group needs this type of programming. And we hope it will also ignite an interest and passion from Club Members to continue with our Teen program—which will also see enhancements beginning this summer with the opening of a brand-new Teen Center,” continued Stanfill.

For 60 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County has played a critical role in the lives of young people. They know that trusted, caring adults and a safe place to go after school can transform a child's life.
